In 2003, Sophie Baudechon, an enthusiast of edible garden plants and their perfumes, decided to develop a brand linked to the universe of the kitchen garden. With the help of her publicist husband, she created Secrets du Potager and a range of associated articles.

In the last couple of years, Secrets du Potager has created a unique and original collection of garden giftware. As its name implies, the collection is centred around the kitchen and vegetable garden. The collection aims to encourage gardening on a small scale - vegetables and herbs grown in one square meter, perhaps in pots on a balcony or a small corner of the garden.

Esschert DesignIn january 2009 Esschert Design has acquired the rights and collection of Secrets du Potager. The brand and collection are well known in France and Belgium and serves the top end of the market. The acquisition by Esschert of Secrets du Potager, will enable the collection to grow and prices to decrease.
